Do you live consciously? Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10, 10 being very conscious, and give yourself a score. Now, let’s think about this score together.
If you are living consciously, you do not numb yourself daily by watching excessive TV, playing hours of video games, or overindulge in food or drugs. If this is a part of our your daily routine, then a low conscious score should be awarded.
A higher score would come from a person that lives a life with the mindset that every day is a good day. The feeling or mood for the day is not impacted by the weather, where you live, or if you experience a challenge. Failure or difficulties in life are not always bad. Rather, they are an opportunity for growth.
Some of you may read this and the word optimism comes to mind. There is some overlap. However, a conscious person lives from the inside out and thus the weather, their neighbor, or a family member does not impact the way they feel because they consciously choose to be their own source of love, fun, attention, and security. In order to be your own source, you have to consciously reflect on how you are feeling and make changes within your day to meet your own needs. I am not here to suggest that other people should not have a role in your life. On the contrary, they have a huge role and that is to make your cup overflow. It is your job to fill your own cup and others add on to the grounded, conscious living part of yourself. So, turn off the TV, put away the video games, do not reach for that third glass of wine. Instead (and this is important), sit within yourself, listen, monitor how you feel, and try new things to enable you to feel even better. And remember, when you live from the inside out, every day is a good day. Choose it.
