Take Time To Fill Your Own Cup

Stop for a minute. Ask yourself what frustration FEELS like. For example, you are at work and are trying to get a program to function but it will not cooperate. You try again and again without success. It should be simple. The task is simple but it is not working and you feel your frustration level rising quickly to a critical level. Stop. What does this mean? It is time to fill your cup. You are running too low. In life, things do not work out. It happens to everyone. It’s the response to this event that is a sign to us on how well we are filing ourselves. If you are full, the fact that a program isn’t working would cause minor frustration. You would simply restart the program or your computer. The thought to try something else comes easily. It is when we are empty that it does not. So, the next time you find yourself at a critical frustration level, check your levels. Have you been filling yourself up lately? How? Is filling yourself a lifestyle? It should be. To clarify, I am not suggesting that a person should shop every day and that is “filling themselves”. On the contrary,  purchasing an excessive amount of clothes for external gratification is the exact opposite of what I am suggesting in this scenario. There are as many ways to fill oneself as there are people. For example, you could go for a hike or walk in botanical gardens, read a good book, take time for a podcast, treat yourself with one of your favorite beverages. To fill yourself means exactly that. To do something for yourself, by yourself, that you enjoy doing. Schedule time today!
